Answer 1 of 8: My family will be going to Bangkok for shopping trip and also like to spend 2 days in Pattaya. Need advice: 1) how to get to Pattaya? Are taxis reliable and how long is the journey?More expensive than pattaya, mildly cheaper than tourist areas in bkk. Nightlife is smaller and more concentrated than pattaya, main spot being bangla road (about 200 odd bars, 4 live music, 6 night clubs, 15 gogos) but are a few smaller/quieter spots like OTOP and soi bel air)
Banks operated about 95% of exchange outlets. In Bangkok Superrich has a few outlets which offer slightly better rates than the banks, but note the comments above. Pattaya has a handful of private money changers but compare rates and watch for any charges (banks do not charge for changing cash). 5.
Roong Reuang Coach (Airport Pattaya Bus) and Bell Travel Service run the bus services between the airport and Pattaya. The journey time from Suvarnabhumi to Pattaya is around 1 hour 45 minutes. These services are reliable, inexpensive and a very cost effective way to get from the airport to Pattaya.
Every time you use a cashpoint (ATM) in Thailand you will be charged upwards of 200 Baht, about $7 US. Some now charge 220 Baht and of course, this may increase. Shop around for the best ATM. Don’t stress too much, you’re unlikely to find a cheaper one because, of course, they all increase their fees in unison. If you want to visit an affordable touristic city in Thailand, Pattaya is undoubtedly a better option than Bangkok. an average person needs a budget of about $56 to live per day in Pattaya. But in Bangkok, an average person has to spend around $61. comparison of the cost of living in Bangkok and Pattaya, almost everything is more expensive in 7GxIc.
