KTM 1190 Adventure is the first travel bike to roll on state of the art with its extremely durable and grippy tyres. The front tyre sized at 120/70 ZR 19 and the rear one at 170/60 ZR 17. Ride and Handling. The KTM 1190 Adventure offers a new MTC (Motorcycle Traction Control) that guarantees sporty yet controllable propulsion on all surfaces. You can go through about three chains before the rear sprocket shows any wear. That website misses a point about chain size. The numbers are in 1/8" of an inch. A 520 chain is 5/8" between the pin centers and 2/8" across the rollers (1/4"). The 525 is 5/8" pitch and 2.5" eights roller width (5/16").

As it stands the level of buffeting at motorway cruising speeds is too high for comfortable long-term travel (well, it is for 6ft-plus riders), otherwise the bike is very stable and comfortable. What would have been nice is a cruise control.

The clutch pull is light, the throttle isn't snappy, and the brakes are both powerful and easy to modulate. Its fuel efficiency isn't bad either. Affordable maintenance. Officially, the 390 Adventure needs to be serviced every 7,500km, in addition to the first service that takes place at the 1,000km mark.

Woody has provided that information for those who want to build their own, usually selling spoke sets. The wheels KTM uses are 36 spoke and the fronts use a cross 2 pattern, while the rears use a cross 3 pattern. The OEM spokes for a 21" front are about $4 each.
